1.Based power supply

Also known as a first power supply. The based power supply of telecom station is divided into AC based power supply and DC based power supply.

AC based power supply
The low voltage AC power supply provided by the power supply unit, the standby oil generator set (including mobile power station), the telecom inverter (or UPS) is referred to as the AC power supply of the telecom station. Low voltage AC based power supply rated voltage of 220V or 380V (three-phase five wire), rated frequency of 50Hz. Telecom equipment directly by AC based power supply, input voltage range for the rated voltage of +5% ~ -10%. Telecom equipment by AC based rectifier power supply, input AC voltage range for the rated voltage of +10% ~ -15%. In the process of power supply, if the voltage range of the voltage of the grid or generator sets is beyond the allowable range of the telecom equipment or the rectifier equipment, should adopt AC voltage regulator, to ensure that the input AC voltage to meet the requirements. The frequency range of the low voltage AC power supply shall be within the rated voltage of ±5% or less, and the sine distortion rate of the voltage waveform shall not be greater than 5%.

DC based power supply
Power supply DC voltage for all kinds of telecom equipment, telecom solar inverter and DC converter, called DC based power supply. The rated DC voltage power supply of telecom station is -48v. The battery of DC power supply usually consists of 24 lead-acid batteries, battery voltage will change in -51.6 ~ -55V when charging. In the discharge process, battery voltage will be lower than the rated voltage of the battery which is -48V, considering the voltage drop of the DC feeder between the battery room and the telecom room, the DC input voltage of telecom room of each frame allows changes in the range of -40 ~ -57V.

2.Rack power supply

Rack power also known as the second power supply. Due to a variety of special integrated circuits in a large number of telecom equipment applications, need to use 3.3V, 5V, 12V and other low-voltage power supply. In order to reduce first power requirement and save cost and reduce the maintenance workload, at present all kinds of telecom equipment is installed in the DC converter, the -48V DC voltage conversion needed for the work of 3.3V, 5V, 12V. In order to improve the reliability of power supply, several DC converters are used in parallel. In addition, a number of telecom devices are also equipped with a ringing power supply to convert the -48V voltage into the AC voltage required for ringing.

Application

Power plant or substation power for controlling, protection and automatic device, emergency lighting, communications, steam turbine DC oil pump and so on independent DC systems. It can provide reliable power supply in the case of a power failure completely in plant or substation. The traditional DC systems connect battery pack and run with float charging mode. The new DC system run with silicon controlled rectifying power supply for battery.
