Remote area telecom solar system generally includes power generation equipment, energy storage equipment, energy conversion and manage equipment. Power generation equipment has diesel generator, photovoltaic array, wind power generator or hydro generator. Storage equipment generally is battery or storage pool. Energy conversion and management equipment have DC converter, inverter and other equipment.

Diesel generator is the energy source of the power supply system in many remote areas, in order to obtain the maximum fuel efficiency and reduce the maintenance, need to maintain the load rate at 60% ~ 70% of the rated load capacity of the generator. The output power of the wind power generator can reach 250W~500kW, but it needs to select the proper wind field, and has the stable wind speed. The solar power generation system should have high reliability and security, as an important part of the solar power generation system, the inverter should have the following protection function.
1.Input under voltage protection. When the input voltage is lower than the specified under voltage value, that is less than 85% of the rated voltage, the solar energy inverters should be able to automatically shut down to protect and make the corresponding display.
2.Input over voltage protection. When the input voltage is higher than the prescribed over voltage disconnect value, which is higher than the rated voltage of 130%, the inverter should be able to automatically shut down to protect and make the corresponding display.
3.Over current protection. Over current protection of the solar energy inverters, it should be able to ensure that act timely when the load short circuit or current exceeds the allowable value, so that it can avoid the damage of the current. When the operating current exceeds 150% of the rated value, the inverter should be automatically shut down. When the current is returned to normal, the equipment can work properly.
4.Short circuit protection. When the inverter output short circuit, should have the short-circuit protection measures. Inverter short-circuit protection action time should not exceed 0.5s, after short-circuit fault exclusion, equipment should be able to work properly.
5.Reverse polarity protection. Solar energy inverters should be able to automatically protect when the positive input terminal of the inverter is connected with the negative input end of the negative electrode. After the polarity is connected, the equipment should be able to work properly.
6.Lightning protection. Solar off grid inverters should have lightning protection function, the technical indicators of the lightning protection device should be able to ensure the absorption of the expected impact energy.
