In 2017, affected by the double factors which the accelerated expansion of the domestic PV distributed market and the rapid rise of foreign emerging markets, photovoltaic industry in China has been developing continuously and healthfully, the scale of industry has been steadily increasing, the technology level has been significantly improved, the production cost has been significantly reduced, the business efficiency has been continuously improving, and the foreign trade has been keeping stable.

1.The scale of the industry has grown steadily.
In 2017, the output of polysilicon in China was 242 thousand tons, an increase of 24.7% compared with the same period last year. The output of silicon wafers increased by 34.3% over the same period last year, and the output of battery chips 68GW increased by 33.3% compared to the same period last year, and the output of components increased by 76GW, up 31.7% over the same period last year. The output of 87GW in China increased by 34.3%. The global proportion of the production scale in each link of the industrial chain is over 50%, and continues to be the first in the world.

2.The level of technology is increasing.
P single crystal and polycrystalline cell technology has been continuously improved. The average conversion efficiency of conventional production lines is 20.5% and 18.8% respectively, and the advanced production lines with passivated emitter back contact technology (PERC) and black silicon technology reach 21.3% and 19.2% respectively. The production process of polysilicon is further optimized, and the average power consumption of the industry has been reduced to less than 70KWh / kg.

3.The cost of production dropped significantly.
Under the promotion of the technological progress and production automation, intelligent transformation, Chinese leading enterprises of polysilicon production cost drop to 60 thousand yuan / ton, component production cost drop to 2 yuan / watt solar power system, the investment cost drop to 5 yuan / watt, the cost of electricity drop to 0.5 – 0.7 yuan / kwh.

4.The benefit of the enterprise continues to be good.
Thanks to the expansion of market size, the enterprise shipments increased greatly, at the same time due to technical progress by decreasing production cost and profitability of Chinese photovoltaic business improved significantly, the upstream silicon material, silicon wafer, auxiliary material, and the downstream power solar inverter, link the highest gross margin reached 45.8%, 37.34%, not 21.8%, 33.54% and 50%.

5.Foreign trade remained stable.
From January to November 2017, the total export of PV products in China was 13 billion 110 million US dollars, up 1.4% over the same period last year, and the import of polycrystalline silicon was 144 thousand tons, up 17.3% over the same period last year. Affected by the continued expansion of the global PV market, the export volume of PV products in China has increased rapidly, but the export price of products has been declining. The growth rate of emerging markets such as Mexico, Brazil and India has increased, and the export of India has ranked first.
