Domestic reactive power compensation devices basically use capacitors for reactive power compensation, the power factor after compensation is generally around 0.8-0.9. Static var generator uses power module to compensate reactive power. The power factor after compensation is generally over 0.98, which is the most advanced power technology in the world.
It takes 200 milliseconds for domestic reactive power compensation devices to complete one compensation. Static var generator can complete one compensation in 5-20 milliseconds. Reactive power compensation needs to be completed instantaneously.
3.Stepped and Stepless
Domestic reactive power compensation devices basically adopt 3-10 levels of stepped compensation, each increase or decrease level is tens of thousands of methods, can not achieve accurate compensation. Static var generator can start stepless compensation from 0.1 kF and realize precise compensation completely.
Domestic reactive power compensation devices use capacitive type, capacitor itself will amplify harmonics, so it can not filter out harmonics at all. Static var generator does not produce harmonics and will not amplify harmonics, and can filter more than 50% of harmonics.
Domestic reactive power compensation devices are usually controlled by contactors or thyristors, resulting in shorter service life, generally in about three years, large self-loss and frequent maintenance. The service life of static var generator is more than ten years, and the loss itself is minimal and it is basically not maintained.
