At present, high frequency tower type UPS and modular UPS can achieve 96% highest efficiency value, but this can only be achieved over 50% load rate. As mentioned above, because of system redundancy and advance planning, the UPS load rate is about 20~40% under common conditions. High frequency tower UPS under this condition can only achieve the efficiency of 94~95%, while the mainstream modular UPS generally have a “dormant module” characteristics based on a certain system redundancy, can sleep a certain number of modules (can be manually or automatically), keep the work rate of modular UPS system in the relatively high area, which remain in 96% of the highest point of efficiency.
And some modular UPS manufacturers considering the module aging time may be different, develop the “rotation dormancy function”, namely every set period, rotate the dormancy module, average aging time of each module, to improve the overall UPS system life.
